The Run Down
The event is a points-based omnium. Competitors are awarded points based on their finish in each of the three events (the better your finish, the more points you will receive), and the person with the most accumulated points at the end of the weekend wins the overall.
Saturday
Stage 1: Hillclimb
Racers will start in waves and tackle a two-mile, mostly uphill point-to-point course. Much of the course is wide open and perfect for passing.
Stage 2: Short Track
Each category will compete "criterium" style on a half mile loop that features some technical elements and encourages tactical racing. Races will run a set amount of time, plus one lap.
Sunday
Stage 3: Cross Country Marathon
All categories will start together and try to complete as many laps as possible of an eight mile course in four hours as possible. Similar to other endurance events, racers may be on course for more than four hours, but no competitor is able to log another lap once that threshold has been reached. This stage will be worth more points than the first two.
A full points breakdown will follow the exact amount of points that will be awarded per event based on the VORS scale.
•Points go 15 riders deep in each category
•Hillclimb and Short Track score as "XC" races
•Cross Country Marathon scores as "Endurance" race (big points!)
